Prof. Dr. Ana Raquel Simões

ana raquel simoes_kleinAna Raquel Simões is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Education and Psychology of the University of Aveiro, Portugal.

She holds a PhD in Language Education and has published book chapters and papers in scientific international and national journals.

She is a member of the Open Laboratory for the Learning of Foreign Languages (LALE), and of the Coordination team of the Research Centre ‘Didactics and Technology in Education of Trainers’ (CIDTFF).

She is the Vice-Director of the Master in Teaching of English in Primary School. She is also the supervisor of several PhD and Master’s thesis.

Dr. António Moreira

antónioBorn in Aveiro, Portugal, António Moreira holds a PhD from the University of Aveiro, where he develops teaching and research activities. With several books and articles published in Portugal and abroad, he was the coordinator of the Competence Centre Nónio Século XXI of UA, of the Digital Contents Laboratory of the Didactics and Educational Technology Department of the same university, and of the Specialised Training Courses and Masters in Multimedia in Education, having also coordinated the Internet@eb1 and CBTIC@EB1 programmes for the district of Aveiro. He was also Director of the Doctoral Programme in Multimedia in Education until he took office as Director of the Department of Education, a position he held for 5 years. With main activity in post-graduate studies, he is currently supervising 16 post-graduate students, all PhD students. His main research interests are focused on Cognitive Flexibility Hypertexts, Learning Communities, Communities of Practice and Random Access Instruction.

Dr. Margarida Lucas

margarida lucas_kleinMargarida Lucas, Researcher. Prior to her involvement with academia, she was an ESL teacher across various levels of education.

Her research interests mainly focus on the interplay between digital technologies, teaching and learning and professional development.

She has been involved in the development and validation of the European Digital Competence Frameworks for Citizens and Educators (DigComp and DigCompEdu).

Dr. Mónica Lourenço

monica lourenco_kleinMónica Lourenço is a Researcher at the University of Aveiro in Portugal, and a member of the Open Laboratory for Foreign Language Learning (LALE). She has a PhD in Didactics and Teacher Education, an MA in Linguistics and Teaching, and a degree in Modern Languages and Literature (English and German Studies).

She has experience in teacher education in the areas of language didactics and early years education and has supervised several Master‘s dissertations.
She has published extensively on early language learning, plurilingualism, internationalization of the curriculum and global citizenship education. She is co-editor of Early Years Second Language Education: International Perspectives on Theory and Practice (Routledge, 2015) and Teacher Education Policy and Practice in Europe: Challenges and Opportunities for the Future (Routledge, 2018).

Currently, she is researching the transformative potential of a “third space” in the education of teachers for global citizenship.

Dr. Susana Pinto

susana pinto_kleinSusana Pinto is a Researcher at the University of Aveiro, in the Research Centre on Didactics and Technology in the Education of Trainers (CIDTFF), Portugal, where she is conducting a project on intercultural supervision and research in PhD studies.

She has a PhD in Didactics and Teacher Education, an MA in Language Didactics, and a degree in Teaching of English and Portuguese.

She is the supervisor of Master‘s dissertations and PhD thesis.
She is the Coordinator of the Open Lab for Foreign Language Learning (LALE).

Sara Santos

Sara SantosSara Santos is currently enrolled in the PhD of Education in the branch of Teaching Methodology and Curriculum Development at the University of Aveiro - Portugal. She is also a non-PhD Integrated Researcher in the Research Centre “Didactics and Technology in Education of Trainers” (CIDTFF) and a member of the Open Laboratory for the Learning of Foreign Languages (LALE).
 She concluded her master in Teaching English and Spanish in 2019 at the University of Aveiro. She has a degree in Languages, Literatures and Cultures, which was concluded at the University of Aveiro in 2017. Her research interests are in the area of Language Didactics, namely plurilingualism and intercomprehension. She has professional experience as a private tutor of English and Spanish at different levels of teaching.
